How you can help - FAQs
1. How much of my donation is going directly to people in need?
We ensure that 100% of your donation will go towards our rural development programs. Our board of trustees, as well as the director of our school function as volunteers, and are not paid an honorarium or a salary. No administrative costs are funded by donation, which means that 100% of all donations from individuals, associations, foundations, and businesses, provide direct services to people living in villages. We are fully committed to spending your money in a highly productive, efficient way.
2. How will my donation be used?
If you go to the Donate section, you will notice that there is a listing of donor funding options, with program activity costs, as examples of how efficiently your money is put to use in carrying out program activities. You can choose to target your money towards a particular program, in which case we will ensure that the funds are used towards maintaining and expanding the scale of the chosen activity. Unspecified donations are added to the corpus, which is used to fund our capital expenditures and make up any shortfalls in donor funding of active programs.
3. Can I choose a specific project to support?
Yes, we have stated the various causes you can support in the respective ‘What We Do’ sub-sections, making it easy for you to choose specific projects. Donations that are given to a specific project will be used to fund activities related to that project.

Please note that the Chakshu Foundation may use any directed donation for other purposes if the Board of Trustees finds that all funding needs for the particular program have already been committed, or if the program is discontinued because its goals have been met.
4. I don't have much money. Can I still help?
